Small Business Luncheon Scheduled for May 21
The Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce will again host the Small Business Luncheon this year on Wednesday, May 21. The event will take place at Henderson Country Club. The Henderson-Vance Chamber, along with the Franklin, Granville and Warren County Chambers and the VGCC Small Business Center will collaborate to sponsor the event.
This annual spring luncheon highlights the importance of small businesses to the local economy. “Small business plays a major role in the overall economy and makes up the largest portion of business in our local community,” said Jenny Hester, Chamber Business Growth and Development Committee chairperson and Interior Design Coordinator for Prim Residential Rentals, Inc. “Small business is of tremendous importance to the economic growth of our community,” Hester continued.
The luncheon will feature keynote speaker Barnsley Brown, PhD, President of Spirited Solutions. Dr. Brown will present a short seminar entitled “Beating The Business Burnout Blues”. Presentation of the 2007 Vance County Small Business of the Year will highlight the luncheon, as well as small business honors for Franklin, Granville and Warren County businesses.
This will be the seventh consecutive year that the Chamber will present the Vance County Small Business of the Year award. Past recipients have included Interiors Downtown, Fogg’s Exxon, Vance Furniture, Gray’s Gourmet, The Peanut Roaster and Raemac Transportation.
The fee for the event will be $10 per person and includes lunch and the seminar. For more information about the annual Small Business Luncheon or to register, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 438-8414 or rsvp@hendersonvance.org.
