Center's Underground Cafe',
located at 1096 U.S. 1 Hwy South, held a ribbon cutting on February 5 to
celebrate the opening of their restaurant, the "Underground Cafe'" on Fridays to

held a ribbon cutting on February 3 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the
local YMCA. Also celebrated was the 20th anniversary of their current
facility located at 380 Ruin Creek Road. A family celebration of food and

held a ribbon cutting on December 10 to celebrate

October 16 to celebrate the opening of their new facility at 205 Toyota Lane.
Owner Dave Genetti along with Toyota provided lunch for all guests. A large
crowd turned out for the special event including representatives from the

the expansion of their business to include an urgent care center with new staff

The Recovery Response Center - Recovery Innovations of North Carolina,
Inc. held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on
August 4. Representatives
from the Vance County board of Commissioners, Five County Mental Health
Authority and local businesses were present. The Recovery Response
center provides support to persons who are experiencing a crisis for as
short as a couple of hours to as long as five days. Crises can be the
inability to feel right, being extremely stressed out or having substance
abuse problems. This a free service for adults 18 years and older offered to
the residents of Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Vance and Warren counties.
Smoking is permitted and those who stay overnight will have their own room.
(If clients are taking prescription medications, they must bring
prescription bottles with them.) It is located at 300 Parkview Drive

Platinum Cuts IV hosted a ribbon cutting on July 30 to celebrate its
grand opening and new Chamber membership. The business serves as a full service
